On Emotional Intelligence

I want us to discuss about what they call emotional intelligence (huh?? what the hell is that?) . Emotional intelligence has been proposed as one of the strategies that can be applied to help people with mental health. But, what is this ” emotional intelligence? “

Salovey & Meyer (1990) describe emotional intelligence as a set of skills hypothesized to contribute to the accurate appraisal and expression of emotion in oneself and in others, the effective regulation of emotion in self and others, and the use of feelings to motivate, plan, and achieve in one’s life.
